Adventure Cat Sailing Charters

Most people think of these excursions when they have a family or group occasion but I found it to be perfect for solo adventurers as well. I often only have a few personal hours to see a city when traveling for work and this charter was a great way to explore the bay while meeting some friendly new people. From boarding at the dock to returning after sunset, the team at Adventure Cat was top notch all the way. Their hospitality really shines through with the way they engage the crowd to help lift the sail and set off with the first drink on the house. Sailing right under The Golden Gate Bridge at sunset is a memory I’ll never forget!

It was six or seven years ago that colleagues and I, from a community school in Sacramento County, took a group of students sailing on San Francisco Bay. I told myself I would bring my family back to experience the same thing. It took me longer than I had planned, but feel fortunate I finally did so with Adventure Cat. Michael and Katrina, thank you! Whether you are visiting San Francisco from afar, semi-local like us, or a genuine SF local, I highly recommend this experience. The views of the City, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge are unmatched and being on the water is just a transformative experience. Frankly, I didn't want to get off when it was over. Thank you for the music as well, everything from The Brothers Johnson to Journey. Katrina, thank you for expertly guiding the catamaran. Michael, thanks for everything from working the rigging on the sails to ensuring everyone had a memorable photo as we drifted below and past the Golden Gate. You two are tops!

It was so windy and the waves were so big, we got wet and cold, but we had a great time! It was a lot of fun despite the turbulent conditions! The crew helped make this a great experience, they are all super nice, offering you to take pictures, getting you a drink (first one is free!), or getting you a coat if you're cold! We did the 7pm one, at sunset, beautiful views! We were lucky that the sun was out, no clouds or fog, otherwise I can imagine the experience might be a bit different... But for us it was great!
